Rosetta Stone Hebrew has the distinction of being the only spoken language in use today derived from a written language. Today, Hebrew is spoken by 7 million people in Israel and Jewish communities around the world.

The ancient form of the language was only used in written materials, such as the Old Testament in Judeo-Christian religions. In the 1880s, there was an attempt to resurrect and transform Hebrew into a common written and spoken language of the Jewish people. This modern version of Hebrew is in use today.

Hebrew is written from right to left and includes 22 consonants. Vowels are typically not seen in modern written form, though they are sometimes denoted by diacritics.
