he Korean language is spoken by nearly 80 million people in North and South Korea and in Korean communities around the world. It uses the Hangul alphabet and many elements of the language were influenced by Chinese.
* The Korean script, Hangul, is written from left to right, with spaces between words.
* You'll find that the pronouns ‘he,’ ‘she,’ and ‘they’ are rarely used in conversational Korean. Instead, speakers will use names or common nouns (such as ‘the man’ or ‘the woman’).
* Korean sentences don't usually include a subject if the meaning is clear from the context.
* Korean speakers will often address a person by their name or occupation. Use of the words ‘you’ or ‘your’ is not that common. If you are referring to a stranger, the word ‘teacher’ can be used as a respectful form of address.
* The function of a word in a sentence is indicated by suffixes, such as topic, subject, and object markers. Our intuitive Korean software helps you to understand and use these markers.
